WakeOrDonate is an alarm clock app that helps you donate money to charity each time you press the snooze button. 

What if sleeping in for that extra five minutes could punish you, but reward others? Give a customisable donation to a wide range of charities - or wake up!

If you had to pay to press the button, would you snooze everyday?

The donation process is not mandatory; you will accumulate a balance that you are advised to donate to your charity choice. Money will be added to your balance upon each press of the snooze button and you can choose to donate your balance whenever you have a spare moment.

The app creates a monetary consequence for pressing snooze. An original alarm clock contains no such punishment for snoozing; this is an unaddressed issue. A study has found that an average of 590,000 UK workers show up late every day - 14%, of which, have snoozed their alarm system. Staff arriving late to work costs the UK £9 billion a year!

The snooze button is pressed far too frequently, the ‘alarming community’ are not productive enough, there are 24 hours in a day - we should all seize them. This is a great app if you're looking to improve your productivity.

When a snooze is really necessary it should at least be worthwhile - both for you and your chosen charity. If you can sleep in comfort, make sure others can too!

Over time, the app will negatively reinforce sleeping in (as your monetary supplies fall), but on the other hand, you could save somebody’s life before you have even got out of bed.

The value of your snooze is customisable from 50p (50c...) to £10 ($10...) and can be directed to a wide range of charities. Each donation transaction is handled securely by Stripe (www.stripe.com): by this unfortunately each transaction incurs a 2.6% + 20p fee (www.stripe.com/pricing) so it is best to clump your snooze donations together. 

Your snooze donation should be directed to a charity that you care about. If your ideal charity choice is not on the app then you can make a charity suggestion and we will do our best to get in contact with your charity choice the very same day. One more update for Flappy Fans. We have been reviewed several games based on Flappy Bird and today we are going to review Flappy Dodo Bird 2. The game is based and literally same as Flappy Bird, but with a different flavour. Regardless of all other games copying the same codes and bird shape, this game give something new as the colours are good and the Dodo bird take place of the old flappy bird. The Dodo bird looks different a little bit large. The gap between the pipes is a little wider but the size of bird is also large so this would not give any advantage to the player.

This game is created by Obsessive-C, who is also behind some more interesting games like “All Gas!- No Brake Allowed”. The game does not give a bad impression as it is free from bugs. It run smoothly on all devices we have used it for. 

Game Play – The game is played like the normal way we Play Flappy Bird. You have to tap the dodo bird to make him fly. There are pipes in the way, so you have to dodge the pipes and fly through the vacant space between them. The more you fly the more it becomes harder. It is easy to handle the bird in this game and the colours are also good. The graphic quality is appreciable.

A powerful paint app with an easy-to-use interface. Has lot of options and predefined shapes that gets your job done easily. Highly recommended.

Here is the scenario. You are travelling to your home town on a public transport. Suddenly your smart phone beeps. You friend has whatsapp-ed you regarding his promotion. What you do? You can call him. Or reply on WhatsApp with a beautiful message combined with some smiley. But nothing beats a personalized image, which your friend likes & keeps it forever. So you can retrieve a picture of both of you and scramble on that. But do you have a tool to do that? In your PC, you have a basic photo-editor in the way of Microsoft Paint. But in your smart phone? So here, we have an wonderful Android app named Paintastic. It is developed by Creativity Unlimited. Paintastic for Android is what Ms-Paint to windows.

Paintastic has a very easy to use interface. In the top you have Undo, Redo button along with menu icon. Please note that you can do 5 undo or redo. So for every change or two, you got see that it is satisfactory or undo that change. Being a smartphone app, it has its own memory limitations.

In the bottom you have the toolbox. Just scroll the toolbox to see how many features Paintastic have. Holding a tool will give additional setting for that tool. By default, paint brush tool is selected. The color which the tool is currently having is given as the color of the toolbox border. First tool is the color picker. It is used to select the color of brush, shape etc. Next is the background color selection tool. It is used to put or change the background color of the image you are working.

Third tool is the very important and most used tool of Paintastic. It is used to customize the brush, you are going to use. As said earlier, touch and hold the tool for a moment to get the additional setting of that tool. It give options to change the size, transparency, a list of predefined shapes, and effects. You should really try these custom shapes in a sample image to learn. One you master it, you can your acquired skill at anytime. Fourth tool is the paint brush tool (which is selected by default, as mentioned earlier).

Fifth tool is the shape selection tool. Microsoft Paint and Adobe Photoshop users simply love this shape tool. It gives predefined shapes, which require much effort, if a human need to do manually. See how many predefined shapes, Paintastic got. The developers really put much effort on this app. Then come the sixth tool which is Text. No matter whether it is a PC app or Mobile app, without a Text tool, no painting app is complete. Of course, holding the tool, gives lot of customization options.

Next comes a simple erase tool. You know that it do. Hold tool to change the width of the eraser. Next one is Paint bucket tool. It is used to fill an area with a selected color. Then comes next important tool. It is used to select an area of image, then apply effects or move it. When we use this tool, an additional layer is created and all changes are applied on that layer. Paintastic becomes fantastic here. See how many features it got like no. of effects, transformations, crop, rotation, flip, copy, delete etc. You need to press the right tick button to apply the changes to the original image or press cancel (X) to simple cancel, if you are not satisfied. Next is a simple zoom tool.

You can toggle the mode, by touching & holding the tool for a moment. We really wondered, why we need an eraser tool separately, as we have this awesome scratch tool. If you have selected a shape in shape tool, you can remove that shape area from the image using this. At last there is color-picker tool.

The menu contains all the required options like open, save, share, set picture as profile photo to various apps on your smart phone. Then there is options to share this fantastic Paintastic app to user friends and family using social media options. Just like every paint apps, Paintastic too requires efforts to learn it.

Try what I call the “the viral reality check” or “bar test”: show your bar buddies your new app. Do they want to have it right away? Do they spend more than 30 seconds playing around with it on their phones? An app with a unique design or feature has a significantly better chance of making it. Identify your app’s distinctive quality and make it part of the core experience.

2. Tell a story
People love a good story behind a product, and apps are no exception. It makes it easier for them to get lost in the world of your app, and even develop an emotional attachment. Developed a game? What’s the background story behind it? It should be entertaining and out of the ordinary (like an epic war between birds and pigs…).

Even with non-gaming apps, you need a story – the reason for its creation and the inspiration that made you go for it. Share this story everywhere including your website, in the app’s description page, and as part of your PR efforts.

3. Timing and momentum
The launch of an app is an event designed to get maximum exposure and start momentum. There is a critical mass of exposure you need to reach, so it’s better to synchronize everything together: PR, banners, and blog posts should all appear at once.

Simultaneous exposure in various outlets has amplifying effects. The first time you see an article about the app, it’s nice. The second time is meaningful. The third time can make it a hit. If you make it into major outlets, your chances of getting the attention of app market content developers will greatly improve.

4. Website
Again, another major element that I’ve seen many developers overlook. Build a home for your app, a place where you can freely describe why it’s so great without the limitations of the app market description page.

A website will also allow you to use old-school marketing techniques of site promotion like banners, SEO and link exchanges. From my experience, these are the most effective channels for creating a steady download stream. The site should be simple and effective and act as a well designed, unique landing page. A one-page site with a large download button is enough.

5. Banners
Find blogs and niche websites where your potential audience is likely to be. Try to buy banners through ad networks or directly from blog owners. I recommend checking buysellads.com first and looking for relevant banners.

If the prices are too high, try to buy banners directly from the site owners. Send them a screenshot of their site with the banner you want to place in it. Try adding a banner in a new location they haven’t been using, making it look like an integral part of the site itself that is likely to bring more traffic.

6. PR
Use a professional or do it yourself. Draft a press release with screenshots, your special story, your website’s URL and a link to download the app. Send personalized emails to blog owners and offer exclusive stories to your larger press targets.

7. Personal connections
Like anything in life, it’s always good to know the decision makers, in this case, app store editors. This tip is mostly relevant for developers after they’ve already made it into a featured list. You’ve made an extremely valuable contact so don’t let it go to waste. In order to be featured again, share the app’s process with the content editors and give them advance notification of any new versions you’re releasing. Be open to their opinions and thoughts.

8. Stumbleupon paid discovery (one of my personal trade secrets)
A great source for traffic that does not get the recognition and appreciation it deserves is Stumbleupon’s paid discovery. With paid discovery, you pay for actual viewing of your landing page (that’s why it’s important to have a website) at prices starting at $0.05 USD per visitor, which is about 10% of the cost of most AdWords and Facebook Ads.

This is a method that will enable you to get hundreds of visitors per day on a small budget. If your site is great and the app is outstanding, this source should be sufficient for a basic download rate of around 100 downloads a day.

9. Make your app free at launch
When launching your app, offer it for free. There is no point in creating another barrier to download. Price your app but present the free download as a launch promotion. The promotion is news by itself, and there are blogs that cover app promotions where the news can be shared.
